Bahus

Bahus

A wine and spirits store with 7,000+ products, run from the same admin as five other stores.

Bahus sells wine, spirits and gifts online and from its shop in central Tallinn. The old site ran on WordPress with a paid theme, and it showed: pages loaded slowly, hosting was expensive, the design looked dated and the admin lagged every time someone edited a product. With thousands of bottles in the range, keeping the catalogue up to date had become a chore.

In four weeks we moved Bahus to the platform we had built for Maitsev Sushi and Maitsev Gruusia: one database and one admin that now runs six stores, each with its own prices. We refreshed the design and the logo colours, rebuilt the catalogue from current supplier data and moved the servers and email to new hosting. Popular products that other sites link to were redirected to their new pages, so that search traffic wasn't lost.

Whisky category with filters on the Bahus online store
01

7,000 products, easy to browse

Wine, sparkling wine, spirits, beer, soft drinks, gifts and a food menu, split into clear categories and subcategories. Shoppers can filter by volume, strength, region and price, sort the results and jump to new arrivals or deals. Each product card shows the volume, strength and country at a glance, so people can compare bottles without opening every page.

One admin managing three online stores
02

One platform, six stores

Bahus shares one database and one admin with five other stores, including Maitsev Sushi and Maitsev Gruusia. A product is added once and appears wherever it's sold, while each store keeps its own prices. Orders from every site land in the same place, so the team works from a single list instead of a separate back office for each store.

Import preview with price changes and flagged anomalies
03

Every import is checked before it goes live

Before anything changes in the catalogue, the admin shows a preview of the import: which products will change, how many prices went up or down and exactly what the new values are. Nothing is written to the database until someone confirms it. Anything unusual, such as a price jumping by more than 50% or a product switching category, is flagged and has to be approved by hand.

04

From a supplier price list to a full product page

Suppliers send their price lists as Excel or CSV files, and those files rarely contain more than a name and a price. The import picks out the data it needs, then a parser looks up images, descriptions and missing details on other sites and translates the text into Estonian, Russian and English. Products that go off sale aren't deleted: they move to an archive and can be brought back in a click when they're available again. On top of that, a bot checks suppliers' websites and updates prices automatically, because suppliers keep their sites more current than their price lists. While it works, the parser keeps a log of what it found, what it didn't and what needs a second look because the data doesn't match. The person who ran the import sees the log, and it is saved on the server too.

Sales analytics dashboard in the Bahus admin
05

Sales analytics inside the admin

The admin has its own analytics: revenue, number of orders, average order value, returning customers, cancelled orders and abandoned carts. Charts show sales over time, orders by hour and day of the week, delivery versus pickup and the best-selling food and drinks, as well as what most often gets left in abandoned or cancelled orders. Search performance from Google Search Console is shown for every site, and any date range can be picked.

Managing orders and promotions in Payload CMS
06

An admin built for the team

The team handles products, categories, orders and promotions: changing order statuses, cancelling orders and switching discounts on or off. Newsletter subscribers are stored and managed in the same place. There are two roles, admin and manager, and a manager only gets the permissions they need, so nobody can break the catalogue by accident.

Checkout with parcel locker selection and Montonio payment
07

A checkout that fits the business

Payment runs through Montonio, with bank links from Estonia and the neighbouring countries. Drinks can be sent to a parcel locker of any major carrier, chosen from a list of cities and addresses right in the checkout, or picked up at the shop. If there's food in the basket, the whole order switches to pickup automatically. Every order sends a confirmation and an invoice to the customer and the management, plus an alert in Telegram.

08

A move that kept the search traffic

The new store is clearly structured for search engines and scores 100 for SEO in Lighthouse. Links to the most popular old product pages were redirected, so the move didn't cost Bahus the visitors it already had. Servers and email moved to the new hosting at the same time.

Let's turn your idea into a product

Book a free 30-minute call or tell us about your project — you'll get a fixed-price proposal within 2 days.

Questions before we start

  • A website starts from €490, an online store from €990, a web application from €4,990 and a mobile app from €2,990. The final price depends on the scope — after a free call you get a fixed-price proposal within 2 days.

  • A website takes 2–8 weeks, an online store 3–12 weeks, a web app 3–16 weeks and a mobile app 4–16 weeks. AI integration takes 1–8 weeks and design 1–6 weeks. The exact timeline is written into the proposal and the contract.

  • Shopify is the fastest way to start selling, but comes with a monthly fee. WooCommerce has no platform fee and gives more freedom. A custom platform is for unique logic, complex integrations and large catalogues. We'll recommend the right option on the first call.

  • Nothing special. An idea of what you need, a few websites you like and your texts or photos, if you have them. We'll help with the rest.

  • You do. The site, domain and all accounts are registered to you, with full access from day one.

  • The first 60 days of support are free: we fix bugs, make small changes and answer your questions. After that, ongoing support starts from €99 per month, or we work task by task.

  • Yes. We work with clients worldwide and communicate in English, Estonian and Russian. Calls, contracts and invoices are all handled online.
